SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: A woman who lives at the Mission Ridget Apartments told police Wednesday that someone broke into her apartment and shortened her vertical blinds by cutting them.

THEFT: A patient at Auburn Regional Medical Center faces possible theft charges after he left the hospital without medical clearance while attached to a $2,000 monitor.

DOMESTIC VANDALISM: Police got a call from 19th Street Southeast at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 22, in which a parent was reporting a 19-year-old son out of control. At the house, they determined the son had punched holes in the wall and had an active arrest warrant from Medina for underage drinking. They found the son hiding behind a fence in the backyard and arrested him.

MONEY FOUND: A person found an envelope containing $2,700 on the side of the road Sunday in the 14600 block of 200th Avenue Southeast and turned the money in to the King County Sheriff's Office.

SHOPLIFTING: Receiving a report of a man shoplifting cigarettes about 8 p.m. Friday at the Chevron station and minimart at 10715 S.E. 240th St., police found the man nearby with two packs he had lifted. He also was carrying a DVD movie he had taken from the nearby Hollywood Video and two pairs of shoes he had taken from the Fred Meyer store. The man was booked for three counts of theft.

ASSAULT: A 17-year-old Renton girl suffered cuts and abrasions, and apparently had a handful of hair pulled out, in a fight with the 18-year-old girlfriend of her ex-boyfriend the night of Nov. 16 on Renton Center Way. The girlfriend, from Seattle, apparently enticed the victim into a fight after she got off work. They exchanged punches. The suspect also sent e-mails that also could result in charges of phone harassment.

FRAUD: A man told Redmond Police Oct. 25 that an acquaintance convinced him to cash a $400 check for him in July. The bank later notified him that the check had been stolen. The acquaintance is now asking him to cash another check.

CAR ARGUMENT: A 46-year-old Renton woman was arrested for assault after she pushed an employee of a car dealership and threatened him with a broom at her home Tuesday afternoon. Two employees of the dealership were trying to retrieve a car her nephew had purchased because the financing wasn't completed. The woman told the employee he was a dead man. The incident occurred in the 300 block of Sunset Boulevard North.

DV ASSAULT: Police responded to a domestic violence assault report at 9 a.m. Oct. 24 in the 19100 block of Northeast 65th Way. They arrested a 25-year-old Redmond woman.

ATTEMPTED CAR THEFT: A man heard someone trying to steal his car and confronted him in the 500 block of M Street Southeast early Thursday morning. The thief attempted to run but the owner of the car tackled him. Police arrested the man and booked him into the city jail after he received medical treatment.

BUSTED: A car pulling onto 112th Avenue Southeast near Southeast 256th Street about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday nearly hit a passing police car. When the driver was pulled over, he told the officer he had smoked ``one little roach'' of marijuana. He was cited and released, police said.

ASSAULT: Police investigated an assault report at Redmond High School the night of Oct. 25. They determined that one boy was assaulted multiple times by another boy. The suspect has been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.

PROWLER: A Sammamish man's 2000 Lexus LS400 was broken into during the day Oct. 29. Nothing was taken and the prowler left a comb behind. The vehicle was unlocked in the victim's driveway in the 200 block of Southeast 33rd Place.

FRAUD: A man called Auburn police to report that a woman hitchhiker he had picked up early Monday morning and given a ride to a motel stole his wallet. He discovered the theft when he got home a few hours later. The incident took place in the 1100 block of Auburn Way South. He described the woman as being in her 20s and wearing a white hat and jacket.

GUM THIEF: Police were called at noon Oct. 30 to the QFC store on 124th Street where a shoplifter had been detained after taking a pack of gum.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: A resident called 911 at 4:15 p.m. Oct. 20 to report seeing a handwritten note in a car window at the Safeway on Northwest Gilman Boulevard. The note read, "First Kill Michael Kronenwetter." An investigation revealed that "First Kill" is the name of a novel by author Michael Kronenwetter.

KIRKLAND
BURGLARY: A woman reported a burglary in progress at 2:02 a.m. Aug. 13, after she heard glass breaking at her home in the 11400 block of Northeast 88th Street. Police apprehended a man in his 20s inside the house. The burglar turned out to be the intoxicated boyfriend of the woman, who declined to press charges.

DOMESTIC: An 18-year-old woman was arrested for domestic violence and assault after punching her stepfather in the nose during an argument at the family's apartment in the 23600 block of 101st Place Southeast about 10 p.m. Thursday. The stepfather told police she's hit him before, but he usually just leaves for a walk until everyone cools down.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: In a dispute with his ex-wife, who came to his house to pick up their 13-year-old daughter, a man in his 40s threw the daughter's 2-pound puppy 15 feet onto the driveway, then struck his ex-wife with a rolled newspaper and used his hands to pin her against her car. The incident occurred between 8:19 a.m. and 8:25 a.m. Aug. 2. Police arrested the man for domestic violence assault at 2:29 p.m. at his home in the 11000 block of Northeast 100th Place.

THIEF NABBED: A man stuffed numerous clothing items into a bag and ran out of the Fred Meyer store at 10201 S.E. 240th St. about 8:40 p.m. Monday. He was caught and held by store employees. He told police he had to take care of other family members. ``I'm too lazy to get a job,'' he said. He was arrested and booked for theft.

ASSAULT: A juvenile was arrested for kicking his mother in the face during an argument. The incident occurred July 26 in the 11500 block of Southeast 315th Place.

ASSAULT: A woman in her late 50s was cited for fourth-degree assault at 12:18 p.m. July 24, after she struck and threw an ice cream cone at another woman who had left a dog in a closed car. The incident occurred outside in the Totem Lake Mall parking lot, 12618 Totem Lake Blvd.

ID THEFT: Police were summoned to an electronics store in the 15700 block of Redmond Way on July 16 after the clerk suspected the customer's ID was false. An investigation revealed that the customer, a 35-year-old woman from Gold Bar, was using a stolen driver's license, a stolen bank card and was driving a stolen car. She was arrested, as well as her suspected accomplice, a 28-year-old Seattle man.
I am sure she stole her accomplice from another lady.

BROWNIES BUST: A man strolling the streets at the Cornucopia Days festival offered to sell psychedelic mushrooms baked into chocolate brownies to two men about 9:30 p.m. Friday. The men were Kent police officers in plain clothes. When they arrested the man, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, he said he was just trying to make some money by selling people brownies for $20 each.

SUSPICIOUS FARE: At about 4:45 p.m. June 29, a cabbie showed up at the Issaquah Police Department. He explained that he picked up a fare in Seattle, but once she was in the cab, she began crying. She now appeared to be sleeping in the cab, and he didn't know what to do with her. An officer helped out the cabbie, and took an unspecified ``necessary action'' to remove the woman from the cab.

SHOPLIFTING: A 21-year-old Mercer Island man was caught shoplifting at Target at about 3:40 p.m. July 2. He made a full confession and was taken to the Redmond Police Department for booking.

DRUGARREST: Staff at the Muckelshoot Casino called police about 4 a.m. Saturday after finding two men staggering around the parking lot and acting oddly. The men were incoherent, didn't seem to know where they were, and they stared in fascination at the casino's bright lights. The two were found to be carrying several suspected drugs and were arrested for investigation of violating drug laws and trespassing.

ASSAULT: An occupant of a car threw a pop at a man who retaliated by throwing a rock at the vehicle May 28. The two men in the vehicle then got out and assaulted the man who threw the rock.

AUTO EXCHANGE: At about 7 p.m. May 13, a green 1995 Subaru Legacy was reported stolen from Mills Music on Front Street. The theft took place after 3 p.m. When officers investigated the area, they found a 1995 Subaru Impreza at that address which had been previously reported stolen. It was not occupied.

NO FREE LUNCH: A manager at Denny's restaurant, 501 15th St. N.E., noticed on the afternoon of May 29 that a man who had been arrested earlier for eating a meal and not paying was back again at the counter having another meal. Once again, he had no money. Police were called and the man was arrested.

FRAUD: A suspect was arrested after using a forged prescription at the Safeway pharmacy on Maple Valley Highway. It was a case of bad timing for the suspect, as a police officer was at the store arresting two youths caught shoplifting.

TIKI ATTACK: A woman was arrested after she reportedly hit her estranged boyfriend with a tiki torch during a disturbance at a home in the 2400 block of I Street Northeast about 8 p.m. Saturday. Police said she was booked for violating a no-contact order.

LOST FOOD: Somebody broke into a food sales and distribution business in the 2000 block of R Street Northwest and stole frozen food products. The freezer door was left open. Some products still in the freezer had to be thrown away. The loss was estimated at $6,000, police were told.

He had been drinking and buying drinks for other patrons for about three hours.

ASSAULT: A woman reported to police that her husband, who was drunk, was trying to connect an imaginary hot water connection to a regular mattress and then he turned on her. He choked her and threatened to kill her. Police arrested him for domestic violence assault.


SAMMAMISH
OVERDOSE: Rescue personnel went to Inglewood Junior High after a 15-year-old girl got sick. She told the medics she'd taken 11 Robitussin gel caps in order to get high. She told them she got them from home. Another girl, a 14-year-old, also owned up to taking 10 Robitussin capsules, but she didn't get sick.


REDMOND
OVERDOSE: Police and fire personnel responded to an address in the 15100 block of Northeast 84th Street at 7:30 a.m. April 20 on a report of a drug-induced medical problem. A juvenile was taken to the hospital as a precaution, while a 19-year-old Redmond man at that address was arrested for possession of marijuana.

ISSAQUAH: PEN KNIFE: A 35-year-old North Bend woman was arrested for stabbing her boyfriend in the arm with a pen and threatening to kill him with a knife. The boyfriend, an employee of the Safeway store on Northwest Gilman Boulevard, was confronted by the woman in the store. The woman left the store but was later located and arrested. She was booked into King County Jail and may face charges of felony harassment and domestic violence assault.
Of course, it would have been worse if she stabbed him with a knife and threatened with a pen.

ARRESTED: A man told police an argument started when his girlfriend complained he wasn't affectionate enough. He told police she hit him and smashed things in his apartment and when he tried to call 911, she grabbed the cell phone from his hand and broke it. Police sent to the apartment in the 11500 block of Southeast 234th Place about 1:30 a.m. Monday arrested the woman for assault, malicious mischief and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.
We can see how affectionate SHE was...

OOPS: An escrow company in the 400 block of 112th Avenue Northeast reported they wired the wrong amount of money to someone in March. When contacted, the person withdrew the money from the bank account. The loss was estimated at more than $166,000.

DRUGS: An Auburn officer spotted a man lighting a marijuana pipe as the man was driving north Tuesday night in the 3700 block of Auburn Way North. The officer made a traffic stop and discovered the driver did not have a valid driver's license. He also found suspected marijuana on the front seat. The man was arrested.
Good strategy: smoke marijuana while driving if you do not have a driver's license.

BIKE THEFT: Four children's bicycles were stolen this week in a neighborhood near the 17600 block of Southeast 269th Place. Witnesses told police they saw teenage boys riding the bikes.
How on earth did the teenage boy ride four children's bikes?

ASSAULT: Police responded to the 23400 block of Northeast 28th Place at about 7 p.m. April 3. A mother and daughter had had an argument, during which the daughter kicked a hole in the wall and grabbed her mother around the neck, scratching her. The 16-year-old girl was arrested.

VANDALISM: Someone drove over trees on city-owned property Tuesday in the 26700 block of 228th Avenue Southeast.

SWINDLE: An Auburn woman reported that a man and woman she met at a casino in Fife talked her into giving them $10,000 and they would give her $60,000 that she could donate to local churches. She went to her Auburn bank with the woman and withdrew the money. The woman handed her the other money wrapped in a bandanna. When she got home, the woman discovered the money she received was rolled-up newsprint.

ASSAULT: A woman slapped, pushed and knocked her father out of his chair, then unplugged the phone while he was dialing 911 on Wednesday at a residence in the 22200 block of S.E. 275th Place.

NO FARE: A 38-year-old Medina man took a taxi from Seattle to Kirkland at 3:48 a.m. March 14, but refused to pay the cab driver his fare. Police contacted the man, who told police he did not have money to pay the cab fare. The man was arrested for theft.

INFLUENCE REVOKED: A 43-year-old Issaquah man was pulled over by a sheriff's deputy at 10:30 p.m. March 16 in the 23500 block of Southeast 24th Street after traveling on the wrong side of the road. The driver said he was passing someone in front of him, then asked if ``this was necessary,'' because he played soccer with another member of the sheriff's office. A check on the driver revealed his registration was unsigned, and his license had been suspended because his insurance had expired for almost a year. As the deputy arrested him, the driver mused that knowing someone in the department didn't help him much. The deputy indicated he would pass along the message to their mutual acquaintance.

BAD LUCK: A man who failed to signal a left turn in the 2400 block of Auburn Way South Sunday was stopped by an Auburn officer who then arrested the man. The officer discovered the man was wanted on a felony warrant, was driving a stolen car, and had burglary and auto-theft tools in his car.
You would think he would be very carefull when driving...

AUTO THEFT: About 9 a.m. March 11, a man staying at the Holiday Inn at 1801 12th Ave. N.W. watched as a man in a yellow-hooded raincoat got into the guest's 1998 Lincoln Town Car and drove off. Police later found the car in the parking lot of Costco, with the raincoat inside. The coat had the identification of a 31-year-old Seattle man, who was later located in the area.
He was afraid somebody will steal his coat...

SHORTS SHOT: A woman told police she and her boyfriend were arguing while he was undressing for bed about 3 a.m. Sunday when he hit her in the head with his shorts. Officers sent to the apartment in the 400 block of Novak Lane to investigate the disturbance found no signs of injury. The man claimed he threw his shorts at the wall and accidentally hit the woman. She told police she was heading back to her own home. No action was taken.

UNHAPPY CUSTOMER: A man demanded more packages of sauces from the cashier at the drive-through window at McDonald's, 10715 S.E. 240th St., about 1:45 p.m. Monday, and became angry when told he had been given the limit allowed. The man took his order from the clerk, slapped her hand and drove away.

DRUGS FOUND: Marijuana was found Saturday inside Washington Mutual Bank, 27212 Maple Valley Highway.

WEAK VODKA: Police went looking for two men early Nov. 4 after one reportedly smashed a window of a lowered black Honda at 52 Lakeshore Plaza. Witnesses said the men were upset because the vodka at The Shark nightclub was too weak. Police tried to track the men with a dog, checked several other downtown bars, but did not find the two men.
I do not think it was weak. I think it was stronger then needed.

2004-11-07

THEFT: A trailer parked in the 300 block of 37th Street Northwest Thursday afternoon was broken into and tools were taken. Damage to the trailer door was estimated at $4,000.

$4000 for a trailer door?

BURGLARY: The Gosanko Chocolate Art store at 116 A St. S.E. was broken into and $1,500 in cash was taken. A glass door was damaged to gain entry.

As not chocolate was taken, I assume the criminal was a man.

CANDY MAN: At about 1:20 a.m. Oct. 26, police pulled over a driver in the 16100 block of Redmond Way for erratic driving. The officer's suspicions were aroused by the bolt cutters on the front passenger seat of his car. The car had some boxes strapped to the roof under a tarp and the officer asked the driver, a 38-year-old Seattle man, what it was. He told the officer he found them outside a grocery store and decided to take them. Upon closer investigation, it was revealed the man was carrying about $1,500 worth of stolen candy, in addition to some Christmas decorations and four large and expensive planter pots. He was arrested. The merchandise was confirmed to have come from a Bellevue QFC store, to which it was later returned.

FRAUD: On Wednesday, an Issaquah resident discovered that someone had accessed his or her bank account and withdrawn $11,000, while also making a deposit of about $1,000. Police consider this a case of identity theft and are continuing their investigation.

Depositing money to a stolen account? Smart.

KIRKLAND

DRUNK CRASHES TWICE: An 18-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for suspected drunken driving after crashing his 1994 Mazda into a tree Halloween night. Police said the driver was in a collision earlier and was leading the other driver involved to an ATM machine to pay for damages when he sped off at a high rate. Police said the 18-year-old then took a wrong turn and crashed into a tree in the 10000 block of Northeast Points Drive. He faces charges of underage drunken driving.

KIRKLAND

DRUG BUST: A 13-year-old Kirkland boy was caught reportedly shoplifting three candy bars from the Market on Central the morning of Oct. 10, according to a 39-year-old Duvall man who witnessed the theft. When police investigated, they found the boy, listed as a runaway, also had marijuana and prescription medications. He was arrested.

REDMOND

DUI: At about 10:30 p.m. Oct. 6, police located and arrested a 50-year-old Redmond man in the 11600 block of Willows Road after a witness called police to report seeing him drinking beer while driving and crossing over the center line.

ASSAULT: At about 3:40 p.m. Oct. 6, a 33-year-old Redmond woman was arrested after her boyfriend said she assaulted him while they were parked in a vehicle in the 5000 block of 148th Avenue Northeast. She is also being investigated for reckless driving.

PLUMBING SUPPLIES: A work van stolen last week in the 12800 block of Southeast 41st Lane in Bellevue was recovered Sunday in Renton, but it was missing more than $50,000 worth of tools and plumbing supplies.

LIVE STORAGE: On Friday, a person described as a drug addict was reported living in a public storage facility in the 12400 block of Northup Way.

BURGLARY: Someone threw a rock through a window at Music Trader on Kent-Kangley Road, entered the building and stole several antique trumpets, according to a police report filed Monday.
What an exquisite taste. I expected the burglar to fall for the new shiny ones.

ASSAULT: Police arrested a 48-year-old Redmond woman at 12:40 a.m. Wednesday in the 8000 block of 149th Place Northeast after she attempted to stab her husband with a kitchen knife.

COUNTERFEIT $100 BILL: A man used a counterfeit $100 bill to buy beer and cigarettes recently at Thriftway, 501 S. Grady Way, according to Renton police. The bill was obviously a counterfeit, according to police. It had a hologram of Abraham Lincoln, who is on the $5 bill. (Benjamin Franklin is on the $100 bill.) It was also possible to see the $5 under the $100 on the bill, according to police. The suspect was described as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 30-35 years old.

AUBURN
2004-10-11

ASSAULT: An Auburn woman was arrested for assault after she hit her mother in the face several times and then hit her on the head with a trophy. The incident occurred Wednesday in the 300 block of R Street Southeast.

RECKLESS: Auburn police arrested a man for reckless driving after they clocked him doing 53 mph in a school zone in the 500 block of 37th Street Southeast. He was driving without a valid driver's license.

VANDALISM: A candidate for state representative saw about 70 of his campaign signs along Duthie Hill Road cut with a knife. The vandalism occurred over the last half of August and first half of September He called his opponent and asked that something be done. The vandalism stopped, then resumed. Some campaign workers said they saw a vehicle with the driver loading up the signs. The sign thief was confronted, who said something about ``them ruining the country'' and seemingly unconcerned about the illegality of his actions. The thief drove off.
