SHOPLIFTING: Receiving a report of a man shoplifting cigarettes about 8 p.m. Friday at the Chevron station and minimart at 10715 S.E. 240th St., police found the man nearby with two packs he had lifted. He also was carrying a DVD movie he had taken from the nearby Hollywood Video and two pairs of shoes he had taken from the Fred Meyer store. The man was booked for three counts of theft.
His good luck obviously ran out

ASSAULT: A 17-year-old Renton girl suffered cuts and abrasions, and apparently had a handful of hair pulled out, in a fight with the 18-year-old girlfriend of her ex-boyfriend the night of Nov. 16 on Renton Center Way. The girlfriend, from Seattle, apparently enticed the victim into a fight after she got off work. They exchanged punches. The suspect also sent e-mails that also could result in charges of phone harassment.
